In Monaco, Finn steps up to a woman he believes to be Steffi, but the woman he is not and is quickly attached to his protective lover and turns away.
In their hotel suite, Taylor and Ridge are excited about being reunited with Finn’s kids – the whole thing is like a dream. Ridge takes the call from Deputy Chief Baker, who surprises him by saying that he knows Finn is alive. He’s got some bad news about Sheila Carter. “She’s gone again.” Ridge then takes Finn’s call, who still hasn’t received Steffi. They offer to join in to come and find him.
Back in Los Angeles, in Deacon’s small room, he ignores the constant knocking on the door, believing that Paul wants him to cover another shift. When his patience runs out, he goes ahead and opens the door… and is stunned to see Sheela!
Deacon said, “Oh hell no, not today. Absolutely not!” Sheela passes by him and complains, “I need help.” She begs him to give just one minute. “Please don’t turn me in, I have nowhere to go.”
In Monte Carlo, Steffi stands, feeling passionate at the approach of the water.
Elsewhere, Finn stares at his phone in despair until Taylor and Ridge arrive with Steffi’s therapist, Flavia. The woman hugs Finn and then explains that Steffi has been taking too long a walk due to her deep depression. They parted ways to search.
In the Deacon’s room, Sheela vows to do whatever she wants to avoid going back to jail. Deacon feels that this attitude keeps getting him in trouble. She complains about Steffi and Deacon reminds her that she is not the victim here! He wants to know what happened in the street that night and guesses that he shot Steffi to silence him. Sheela protested that she had no choice at the time – it was either she or she was going away for the rest of her life. Deacon marvels, “He has two young children, and you were okay with taking their mother away… were carrying both of their parents?!” Nothing would change from the fact that he killed his own son. Sheela reveals that she didn’t. “That’s the beauty of it, Deacon. My son is alive.” Deacon stares as he lets out a crazy laugh.
In Monaco, Finn searches the square for Steffi, to no avail.
Now sitting on a stone bench, Steffi talks about her romantic past with Finn. a French Woman, (played by Days alum Ayda Field), stops and asks her if she is okay or if there is anything she can do to help. Steffi says no one can help her, but the woman touches his hand and says, “Maybe there is.” She leaves and Steffi turns her head as the church bell rings loudly.
In Deacon’s place, he marvels at the story Sheila is telling him about herself and Lee is protecting Finn. He feels that the boy’s mother was protecting him from Sheela, who insists that they were both taking care of him. Deacon finds this extraordinary. Sheela narrates what a relief it was to find out that her son was alive. Deacon can’t believe Lee has resurrected him and wonders if anyone has told Steffi. Sheela says that he is probably reuniting with her right now. Deacon asks where does this leave him. Sheila would love to be in his life, but that’s not going to happen – she’s a runaway. Deacon warns that he should not have come there – he is on probation. Sheela tells Deacon that she has everything. “I need your help.”
In Monaco, Ridge tells Taylor, “It’s not such a big place,” as they part ways to continue the search. Taylor approaches a woman who is not his daughter and Ridge shows Steffi’s photo to two women who have not seen her.
Now inside a church, Steffi lights candles.
Outside the streets of Monte Carlo, Finn wonders, “Stephie, where are you?” He hears the bell of the church bell.
In Los Angeles, Sheila asks Deacon to let him stay. deacon Can not Giving refuge to the fugitive. She swears she won’t find medicine in it – they’ll never know she was there. Deacon asks if she expects him to give up his freedom for her. Sheela did not kill anyone. “No one died. Steffi and Finn are doing well.” Deacon thinks he is lucky and that doesn’t mean he got the free pass. Sheela argues that for weeks believing that she had killed her own son was punishment enough. She remembers how she really thought she had the chance to be part of the family and reminds him that this tragedy would bring Steffi and Finn together and make them even better. Deacon asks, “Do you yourself listen too?” He wonders if he wants to keep on hovering as if nothing has ever happened. Sheela doesn’t know, but she can’t go behind bars; She won’t be there. Sheila knows she’s asking for a lot, but “I need you.” Just then, Deputy Chief Baker starts hammering the door. Sheila whispers and immediately, “Please,” to Deacon, who looks bewildered.
In Monaco, Taylor reunites with Ridge. None of them have been able to find him.
Finn rushes to the church nearby as Steffi emerges. From afar, Finn calls out his name. Steffi looks at Finn and can’t believe her eyes. In slow motion, they run to each other and hug. Steffi’s legs almost pop out from under her as she screams, “Finn, oh my god. How?!” They watch as Finn grabs his wife, who in disbelief strokes her shoulders and chest, before pulling her again in another crushing embrace.
