Full Details on Apex Legends Season 14 “Haunted” Vantage, Kings Canyon and Weapon Changes

Apex Legends Season 14, Hunted, brings some things old and some things new. With a lot of anticipation surrounding the new content, expected to end next week on August 9th. The latest legend, Vantage, is a sniper-focused character who enters the game on the newly redesigned Kings Canyon map. New changes to leveling, weapons, legends, and more are coming, so here’s what you need to know about Apex Season 14.

New Legend – Vantage

Season 14 introduces the youngest Legend Vantage, who enters Apex Games at the age of 18. She is a Cuban American and a sniper-based legend who is going to make all the sharpshooter players very happy.

  • Passive: Spotter’s lens
    • Vantage can identify targets on the ground for itself and zoom in unarmed and without range
  • Tactical: Echo Transfer
    • Vantage throws its bat friend in any direction it likes and can launch where Echo is and double jump once Echo is.
    • The cooldown to his strategy is the real jump, the Echo can be thrown in any direction at any time, but the Vantage can’t jump until the cooldown is reset.
    • Echo can be canceled or recalled at any time.
  • Ultimate: Snipers Mark
    • Vantage has its own sniper rifle (like Rampart’s LMG Sheela) that will mark the targets it hits
    • His sniper rifle will deal 50 damage but marked targets will take 100 damage from his rifle and vantage mates can deal additional damage when marked targets.
    • The mark on a target will and will last only 10 seconds No Extending through walls or covers, it is strictly a line of sight mark.
    • Unlike the Rampart’s Sheela, the Vantage Ultimate doesn’t need to be fully charged to use it. Vantage’s sniper rifle can be used at any time, as long as enough bullets are loaded in the final charge. A fully loaded sniper rifle will have a total of five bullets.
    • Ultimate Accelerants will charge him the final 35% (which is about two bullets)

Vantage has movement abilities as well as long range sniper abilities, so she is going to be an absolute threat to players who excel with snipers. She is able to stay at a distance and deal a good amount of damage while also being able to provide re-support for her team, but she can find herself out of some tough situations with Echo Or use her movement abilities to push with her team. It will be interesting to see how vantage plays out between ranks and competitors.

Apex Legends Season 14 Map Changes

Kings Canyon is getting a major facelift in the southwest corner of where the infamous Skull Town used to be. Between Salvage and Octane’s gauntlet now resides the new Skull Town replacement called Relic. This adds a mass where the map is just a huge gap between the two POIs, adding for more loot and twirls. The POI Cage has been reworked to reduce from a high point to a bunker for teams as its floors have been lowered and the outer cage removed.

Broken Relay has added more buildings to its location and has been renamed Basin and the unnamed landmark in the middle of the container has also been opened to lead to the capacitor. Kings Canyon also implemented a new skybox to add vibrancy and clarity to the overall map. Some changes have been made to the map to increase the flow of the central rotation points. King’s Canyon’s loot pool has been adjusted to improve loot findings throughout the map.

Season 14 will feature a map rotation of Kings Canyon, World’s Edge and Stormpoint, with a focus on Kings Canyon for the first division and Stormpoint for the second.

And, speaking of loot, there are some major equipment changes in Season 14:

  • The Gold Backpack will hold 6 more items and feature the Deep Pocket bonus where you can pick up three Shield Batteries and a stack of medkits instead of two. The Gold Backpack will no longer revive teammates with extra health or shields.
  • The Gold Knockdown Shield will no longer include Self-Revive, but will replace the previous Gold Backpack Guardian Angel bonus where you can revive squadmates with bonus shields and health.

Here are also the biggest weapon changes of Season 14:

  • The SMGS and pistol will carry a new laser sight barrel attachment that reduces hipfire spread. (Additionally, there will be a slight increase in hipfire spread in assault rifles)
  • The Double Tap Hop Up is back and can be used on the EVA-8 and G7 Scout
  • The Skullpiercer is back in rotation and can now be used with the Wingman and Longbow on a 30-30 repeater.
  • The Wingman will now take the Sniper Ammo and use the Sniper Attachment and even with a Gold Mag, the ammo will only stack up to 20.
  • The Spitfire will now take Light Ammo and Light Attachment and with the Gold Mag, it will only hold a stack of 60.
  • The EVA-8 has a slight reduction in its rate of fire and will add stock to its attachment list.
  • 30-30 repeater will automatically come with dual loader and reload two shots at a time.

In addition to these weapon changes, the Volt SMG and G7 Scout are back on the ground loot and Bow and Rampage have been added to the Care Package weapon rotations.

new level cap

After players have been capped out at level 500, there is a new leveling system that allows players to level up to 2,000 times in Season 14. Think of this new system as a reputation system. Once you reach level 500, your level badge will replace with a gold layer and your level will return to 1, indicating that you have earned a round of prestige. You can do this up to four times and earn more free loot boxes with further leveling up.
