This is one of the information that caught our attention. NVIDIA showed demonstrations of DLSS-3 under the game cyberpunk 2077 in 1440p (2560 x 1440 pixels) while showcasing the new Frameview software features that allow games to be compared. Besides the fact thatwith DLSS 3 the game goes from an average of 59.9 FPS to a great 170.7 FPS, the performance per watt is almost multiplied by 4 transients from 0.135 to 0.513 (FPS/Joule). These tests are of course based on the graphics card. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090. In fact, consumption 461.3W without DLSS 3 to 348.9W with. Note that the latency is also automatically improved from 75.4ms to 53.5ms.
DLSS 3 looks very promising on the next generation of NVIDIA RTX 4000 graphics cards
Gains in performance and consumption that, therefore, are not negligible. It remains to be seen if DLSS has such effects in all supported games or if cyberpunk 2077 is an extreme example. To answer this question, we’ll make sure to do our own tests very quickly.
Another interesting point, in this demo Frameview also shows the operating frequency of the GPU in real time. Specifically, the card was running at 2850 MHz. This still represents an interesting difference compared to the advertised 2520 MHz. The card is supposed to work stock and without OC, so this will also be a point to check during our own tests.
But that’s not all, as Jensen Huang also claimed that during internal overclocking tests, the frequency has already been seen at 3 GHz.
