Chase’s recent launch of the Instacart MasterCard® is great news for those who shop with Instacart frequently. The current welcome bonus offer is a $100 Instacart credit automatically upon acceptance, plus a free year of Instacart+ membership. That’s not a bad bonus for a no-annual-fee card.

However, unless you are a regular customer, Chase Instacart Credit Card This may not make sense as its highest cash-back rate (5%) is reserved for Instacart purchases. But now, if you have some other chase credit cardsYou can activate a free Instacart+ subscription and receive statement credits for Instacart purchases.

Starting August 1, 2022, Sapphire, Freedom and Slate cardholders receive up to $15 in monthly credits for Instacart purchases, depending on their card. This is in addition to the already announced free Instacart+ membership on the same card for up to one year.

Here’s what to know about these new Chase Instacart credits, and how to enroll if you want to use the benefits.

We are focusing here on the rewards and perks that come with each card. These cards will not be worth it if you are paying interest or late fees. When using a credit card, it’s important to pay your balance in full each month, make payments on time, and spend only what you can afford.

As you might expect, these new Instacart benefits are more generous over Chase cards that charge an annual fee. But even if you don’t have an annual-fee card like the popular Chase Freedom Flex℠ or Chase Freedom Unlimited®, you can still take advantage of it. Enrollment is required by July 31, 2024, and you can do so Chase’s Instacart Site,

Instacart+ membership can save you a lot of money if you order from Instacart frequently. Typically, the service costs $99 per year (or $9.99 per month), and comes with free delivery and low service fees for orders over $35.

Here’s what you’ll get with each card:

Credits at Chase Sapphire Reserve® are especially generous, up to $15 per month. If you max out this benefit, you can save up to $180 per year (not counting the $99 value from an Instacart+ subscription). This can go a long way in helping offset the card’s $550 annual fee.

Otherwise, you’re looking at a maximum value of $60 per year with the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card ($95 annual fee) or $40 per year with the Freedom Card with no annual fee. That might not seem like much, and probably not a good enough reason to start using Instacart — but if you’re already an Instacart user, it’s a nice little savings.

How to Activate the Benefits of Chase Instacart

Cardholders must enroll for their free Instacart+ membership and statement credit for Instacart purchases; It is not automatic.

Also, be sure to set a calendar reminder to cancel before your free Instacart+ subscription expires. If you do not intend to continue using it and forget to cancel, your card will be charged for another full year of membership at the current rate.

To take advantage of the statement credit, you need to use your qualifying Chase card for your Instacart purchases. If you have multiple cards in their Instacart account, you will want to make sure that you select the correct card before completing the transaction, otherwise, you will not get credit.
